As told by Shelby and Drew Uhrig… It was love at first DM.

Megan and Dale met in 2018 working at Renown Regional Medical Center together. Dale was working as a Travel Nurse and Meg was a CNA working on getting into nursing school at UNR. I only know one side of the story, but it is safe to assume Dale thought Megan was smoking hot and Megan made it clear to her family and friends that she thought he was super cute… but his name was DaLe. All jokes aside, Megan was crushing hard! So, one day she decided to Direct Message him on Instagram to “discuss a patient they shared that day.” We all know she just wanted an excuse to talk to him.Their relationship blossomed soon after. Dale extended his contract in Reno as long as he could but eventually had to take a contract in a new City. He moved to Santa Cruz to stay as close as he could. Megan continued to work at Renown and they would often travel back and forth to spend time together.Eventually, Dale decided to move back to Reno. He signed on as core staff and Megan and Dale moved into their first apartment together.When 2020 hit, Megan and Dale were working in the hospital and living together during a very stressful time for the world. They grew even closer through this.At the end of the year, Megan graduated UNR’s Accelerated Nursing program and Dale bought a brand-new townhome! They moved into their new home together and continued to grow.Dale yelled at Megan for getting new Amazon packages delivered daily and always leaving the cabinets open and Megan yelled at Dale for always leaving his beard trimmings on the bathroom sink. Like any old married couple.In April of 2021, they welcomed their first baby… SWAGGER (Yes, Dale is the one that named him.) Swagger was a rescue Frenchie that needed a lot of love and attention, and he could not have found better parents!In January of 2022 their real adventure started. Megan now had a year of experience working as a Nurse and they were able to start traveling together. Megan, Dale, and Swagger packed everything up and headed to Dallas, Texas. They spent the next 6 months in Texas, living with friends and enjoying all the BBQ.After Texas, their next spot was St. Louis. They rented a cool loft apartment downtown with a friend and Travel Nurse from Reno. Dale knew he wanted to marry Megan long before, but he really started planning when they moved to St. Louis. Dale sent me dozens of ring ideas for Megan and he was able to design a ring that was absolutely PERFECT.During Thanksgiving, Dale managed to get our dad alone and asked for his permission to ask Megan to marry him… For those that do not know our dad, he is quite sarcastic. His first response was “Can I think about it,” and Dale about passed out. Of course, our dad said yes and he could not have been more thrilled about adding Dale to the family.Dale worked with our family and his to get everyone to St. Louis without Megan finding out and he popped the question at a beautiful cabin just outside the city on New Years Eve. Now their adventure has taken them to Nashville, and we cannot wait to see where the rest of their lives take them…Megan and Dale are a match made in Heaven.
